Describe a place (“a ramen shop on a snowy mountain road at night”) and we'll illustrate it with AI, add motion that fits the picture, and send it to your Mac. 5 creations every month, free.
Create a sceneEvery scene starts as an AI-generated illustration, upscaled to 4K. The app adds gentle motion on top (rain, ripples, steam, drifting petals, flickering lanterns) and draws it live on your Mac.
Play a scene behind your desktop icons, or use it as your screen saver with a clock. Your lock screen shows a matching still.
Scenes are a 2–3 MB download. The wallpaper pauses while your desktop is covered, and can pause automatically on battery.
Pricing
Want to create more than 5 scenes a month? Credit packs will let you make as many as you like. Bought credits never expire, and everything you create is yours to keep.

macOS 13 Ventura or later, on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs. It works with multiple displays.
Yes. Each illustration is created with AI image tools, then upscaled to 4K. The motion is added by the Cozy Scenes engine, with every effect placed to fit that picture: rain only where it falls, ripples only on wet ground.
Not yet. Cozy Scenes is Mac-only for now, and a Windows version is planned. Join the waitlist (above, or at the bottom of this page) and we'll email you when it's ready. Your account and scenes will carry over.
No. macOS doesn't allow apps to animate the lock screen, so it shows a still of your scene. The animated version runs as your wallpaper and screen saver.
It installs for your user only and doesn't need an admin password. Some companies block apps from outside the App Store, so check with your IT team if it won't open.
During early access the app isn't notarized by Apple yet. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. This goes away at launch.
Quit Cozy Scenes from the menu bar and move it to the Trash. If you set it as your screen saver, pick another one in System Settings.
